Sync your iCal to Google Calendar

Have your Google Calendar always be up to date to your other calendars.

We make syncing to Google Calendar easy.

Google Calendar does support importing iCal through a url. But once it’s synced they only check it once every 24-48 hours. This makes the import rather useless, resulting in many people not being able to use Google Calendar or apps that only integrate with Google even though they want to.

This page is a gauge for interest. We’ve created a web service that syncs our own external ical urls to our own Google calendars. Now, we’re working on opening our service up to everyone, for a small fee. Leave your email down below so we know you’re interested.

    How it works

    1. Create an account with a single click

You create an account with one click by using Google Social Login.

    2. Set up your calendar

Provide the external url .ics url you would like to have synced. You can select the target calendar, or create a new calendar for this purpose. You can import multiple external calendars.

    3. Authenticate the app

In order to keep your target Google calendar in sync with your .ics-link automatically, you need to authenticate the app to your Google account. This is a one click process.

    4. You’re done!

With everything set, we will pull your external calendar every 15 minutes. We then make sure the target Google calendar is in perfect harmony with this external calendar so your Google calendar is always fully up to date.

    FAQ

What is the main advantage of using your service over Google Calendar’s native iCal import feature?

Google does support iCal import natively. However, they also have a long history of nerfing this feature. An external .ics link imported through Google itself only gets pulled and synced once every 24 hours, with many people reporting that even that time period is not reliable. SyncMyiCal.com syncs your external calendar to your target calendar every 15 minutes, resulting in a sync which is useful for 99% of people.

How do I sign up for the service?

At this moment, we are not live yet. So the only thing you can do now is leave your email so we can reach you once the service becomes available. Letting us know you would like an alert of that also informs us of your interest. Which further motivates us to get the service out sooner!

How many calendars can I sync?

You can sync as many calendars as you want. For now, it will only be possible to sync one .ics to one Google calendar. But this process can be repeated for as many calendars as you like.

How often does your service sync with the external .ics URL?

We sync your external calendar to the target calendar every 15 minutes.

What happens if there is a syncing conflict between my external calendar and Google Calendar?

What our service does is we make the assigned calendar in Google Calendar in line with the external .ics url. That means that we remove, edit, and add anything to make sure the Google Calendar is a copy of the external calendar.

Are there any types of calendars that cannot be synced using your service?

Currently we’re working on public .ics urls. With authenticated ics urls being the first release after that. We are open to suggestions for expanding our service.

Can I share my externally synced calendars with others through Google Calendar?

Yes, the target calendar is just a regular Google Calendar. The only difference is that we use the power of automation to check & align it with an external calendar every 15 minutes.

What if I delete an event from the external calendar? Will it be removed from Google Calendar during the next sync?

Yes. Every sync we make sure the Google Calendar is perfectly aligned with the source calendar.

Can I sync calendars that are not in the iCal format?

Currently this is not an option. iCal is the defacto calendar operability standard, and is supported by practically every calendar application. So we doubt this would cause trouble for anyone. If you do, please let us know so we can see what we can do.
